Elgen Manufacturing’s installation and shop supplies are now available from Superior Equipment Sales, Inc., at its four branch locations in Virginia.
The products, used by heating and air conditioning contractors and sheet metal shops, range from shrink wrap to duct sealer to fabricated collars and fittings. Superior’s stocking inventory allows them to be more readily available to contractors in Virginia.
“Superior’s sales and distribution network offers numerous advantages to contractors over purchasing directly from the manufacturer,” said Carter Shaw, Superior’s Sales Manager. “We can get Elgen products to our customers with lower minimum order requirements, delivered to the jobsite more quickly and for lower shipping costs.”
“We feel adding these products will open up opportunities to work with an entirely new customer base and is a logical progression for Superior as an HVAC distributor,” he added.
Elgen is a 75-year-old family-owned business based in Closter, New Jersey, where most of its products are manufactured in a metal shop by American workers.
The company has a renewed commitment to the industry with a $5 million investment in new machinery over the past five years, according to Art Huger, Elgen’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. The new machinery helps improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs, he added.
“Our fittings are without question the best in the world -- no dispute,” said Huger. “We have become known for the highest-quality products and as lowest-cost provider.”
Many of Elgen’s products are unique to the company, including a patent-pending super stand-off, which hit the market about a year ago. It also purchased a new machine to manufacture the signature blue wrap contractors use to protect their ductwork -- designed to adhere to sheet metals without the need for tape.
Huger said the company has created many patented products that are sustainable, allowing less energy waste and increasing efficiency in the overall system in commercial buildings.
